Baby Dee & Alex Neilson + Lalitha & Nandini

BABY DEE & ALEX NEILSON (US/NL/UK)

Fresh out of candles and off the nightliner bus from a seemingly endless tour opening for The Swans, here she is again: The wonderful Baby Dee!

It takes guts to take a stand in front of the fans of what was once the world's loudest bands only armed with an accordion and a shy guitarist nephew, but the Dee is an artist hungry for challenges like this: The transgender street legend and former sideshow artist, who also used to be a cantor of a Catholic parish, has worked with a large array of respected artists such as Antony (for whom she wrote the arrangements for his first album), Marc Almond or Current 93.

In the second half of April 2017, she will be taking own show on the road with another stellar duo playing even more heartbreaking songs of laughter, love, and religion. No family members involved this time, but Glasgow's drummer of everyone's choice Alex Neilson who is known for his own band Trembling Bells, but also for drumming up a storm for touring luminaries and weirdos such as Bonnie Prince Billie, Mike Heron, Scott Fagan or Jandek.

Besides using piano and accordion, Baby Dee is also interested in performing on her old instrument of choice, the organ, on this next trip, too.
