freddie Murphy + Aset

freddie Murphy is a sound artist based in Torino, Italy. His sonic research has shifted from cathartic performances to express the Catholic sense of guilt to an intimate investigation on feelings of loss and acceptance connected with grief. As a founding member of the duo Father Murphy he worked with labels such as The Flenser, Joyful Noise & Avant! and performed extensively in Europe and North America, before ending the project in 2018 with a final release in the form of a Requiem for the band itself.

His latest output, The Night shows no Dawn is a sonic exploration into the practice of funeral laments, a formal device used in many cultures to express and contain the emotions of grief. In his performance Murphy deals with breathing as sound that makes mourning a collective act, as well as soothing noises that bring along acceptance. A very own form of lamenting to accept not just the losses of the past but also the loss of a future. The Night shows in fact no Dawn.

Aset

Aset is a Stockholm duo (Anja Enerud and Sonja Tofik), with members associated with Masskultur, Moloton and other dim corners of the Stockholm underground. Creeping out of the gloom, they feed the anxiety with aberrant sounds.

Kulturhuset Oceanen är en Q-märkt, kulturhistorisk byggnad vilket är en utmaning när det kommer till tillgänglighet. Vi gör vårt bästa för att så många som möjligt ska kunna besöka oss. Vid besök med rörelsehjälpmedel är ingången via entrén till scenen bäst anpassad. Denna nås genom Gathenhielmska trädgården. Ingången är låst, därför ber vi er att höra av er en dag innan ert besök och senast fredag 16:00 om ni ska besöka oss över helgen. Rullstolsanpassad toalett finns i scenlokalen.
