The Queer Gaze curated by: Elina Pahnke

The revolution, televised.

”The revolution will not be televised”, sings Gil Scott-Heron. Those wanting to put up resistance cannot sit and wait for while on the couch, they must take it to the streets. But what if the revolution was televised. What would be shown then? Author and journalist Elina Pahnke invites us to an imaginary TV-show, with the audience as TV viewers. Joining her are author, film maker and artist Michael Bekele and actor/screenwriter Mille Bostedt. Together they will create a revolutionary TV show where the dead can be brought back to life and dreams turn into reality.

💚 Elina Pahnke is a journalist, author, and one of the founders of the media platform Kontext. Her book Everyone Must Eat: On Food, Power, and Morality (2025) is a political report about hunger, power, and class. She is also a trained TV and film scriptwriter. She loves watching TV.

Please note that it is not possible to book in advance for this event.

Accessibility

The Cultural Center Oceanen is a Q-marked culturally historical building, which is challenging when it comes to accessibility. We do our best to have as many people as possible visit us. When visiting us with mobility aids the best-suited entrance is through the stage. This entrance is accessed via Gathenhielmska trädgården. The entrance is locked, please email us the day before your visit or the latest Friday at 16:00 if you are visiting us during the weekend. We have a wheelchair-accessible bathroom. Personal assistants do not need to purchase their own ticket, but we ask you to contact us in advance so we can issue a ticket for the person.
Please note that flashing lights may occur during concerts and events. For questions regarding accessibility email Mia Herman at mia@oceanen.com.
