Mundane + Pharmacist

Mundane

Among rats, dust, and community down by the old Lyckholms brewery, you’ll find the Sect—and at the Sect, you’ll find Mundane.

A band founded around the sense of togetherness that forms after organizing hundreds of gigs for other bands, Mundane’s sound has been shaped by a wide palette of genres, all without drifting too far from its core.

With a new album and a fanbase growing with every show, Mundane is heading out on a string of spring and summer gigs—and we’re thrilled to welcome them to Oceanen!

Pharmacist

Pharmacist introduced themselves to the world in early 2018 with the EP Renaissance, showcasing their knack for crafting uncompromising, gritty pop songs with both style and substance. Over time, the band’s sound has become more bass-driven and marked by a clear spirit of experimentation.

This opens the stage for vocalist Moa Dannefjord’s charismatic, no-holds-barred presence—often compared to Patti Smith—and evokes strong associations with influences like Nick Cave and The Fall (the latter’s version of the song Mr. Pharmacist originally inspired the band’s name).

In recent years, the band has released several singles recorded at Studio Sickan in Malmö. The most recent include the Swans-tinged Looking Up to Me (Lou Reed Wannabe) and a cover of No Body, No Crime, which reflect both broad musical references and a consistent sense of self-awareness and humor.

Accessibility

The Cultural Center Oceanen is a Q-marked culturally historical building, which is challenging when it comes to accessibility. We do our best to have as many people as possible visit us. When visiting us with mobility aids the best-suited entrance is through the stage. This entrance is accessed via Gathenhielmska trädgården. The entrance is locked, please email us the day before your visit or the latest Friday at 16:00 if you are visiting us during the weekend. We have a wheelchair-accessible bathroom. Personal assistants do not need to purchase their own ticket, but we ask you to contact us in advance so we can issue a ticket for the person.
Please note that flashing lights may occur during concerts and events. For questions regarding accessibility email Mia Herman at mia@oceanen.com.
