One Leg, One Eye
One Leg, One Eye is a project formed by Ian Lynch (founding member of the Irish group Lankum) and George Brennan (BB84, Melodica Deathship, Cholera House, Deep Burial). Musically, they delve into the hidden currents of music and song, drawing on the raw aesthetics of black metal, noise and drone, while grounding their sound firmly in history and mythology.
CRONE is Lynch and Brennan’s second album, following their slow-burning 2022 descent into ambient darkness, …And Take The Black Worm With Me. Disorienting, psychedelic and ultimately transcendent, the album’s four tracks are in a constant state of flux, shifting shape within a grainy haze of sound. Traditional song structures and vocal melodies have been deliberately cast aside; instead, the duo channels the forces embedded within the mythological strata buried deep in the Irish collective consciousness.
Aziza
Perhaps best known for her collaboration with renowned noise artist Sewer Election on the project Cadavres Électroniques, Aziza is a Gothenburg-based musician and member of experimental electronic groups Vatican Necropolis and Raven Burial. With a style that combines the unsettling atmosphere of dark ambient and the textured, elusive sounds of musique concrète, she utilizes everything from field recordings to synthesizers to guitar feedback to create droning, layered soundscapes that are as relaxing as they are unnerving.
