After the success of their previous releases, Gothenburg’s own Omni of Halos return with their most explosive and emotionally charged album to date – Recycle Me. Recorded at the legendary Svenska Grammofonstudion together with producer John Agnello (known for his work with Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr. and Kurt Vile), the band have distilled their raw energy into a sonic landscape that feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking.
With a sound that blends fuzzy guitars, melodic intensity and a tense punk attitude, Omni of Halos deliver an album that takes the listener on a journey through both darkness and light – an uncompromising portrait of the present moment.
The band has toured with Dinosaur Jr., and in November Omni of Halos took their next major step, opening for Tyler Childers at the prestigious O2 Arena in London – a testament to their growing international impact.
This autumn saw the release of the debut single Alexanderhugget, a relentless blow of guitars, pulse and existential heat. The sound is raw, alive and constantly on the verge of breaking apart. Drakenberg is the core of Holograms, now writing in Swedish.
“Alexanderhugget is a harsh slice of human life and suffering, where Killing Joke guitars, Simon Gallup bass lines and anxiety-soaked vocals with the taste of blood in the mouth form the whole. You get the picture. It’s pitch-black and phenomenally damn good.” – 482 MHz
“They have roots in Holograms and already there you can sense the potential for greatness. Throw New Order with Glasvegas as the backing band into the mixer and you’ll get the vibe. Drakenberg deliver five tracks of desperado rock in Swedish where the barbed-wire guitar’s welding flame burns deep holes in the eardrum. There’s a lot here to take in, I can almost promise you that.” – Göteborgs-Posten
A band caught in the middle of a snowball fight between grimy rock and screeching indie punk, fueled by frenetic energy, dirty guitars, and catchy choruses. Live, they deliver both sheer noise and finely tuned songs, constantly balancing between heaven and hell.
The band emerged from Gothenburg’s DIY scene and has built its reputation on small, sweaty stages where the audience stands just an arm’s length away.
